Random Updates From The "What's Been Happening" File

Oh we've been a busy lot!

School is keeping us hopping.  Who knew 5th grade was so work intensive??  Oh My Word.  Couple that with an 11 year old boy that is a total procrastinator and day dreamer and our nights are all taken up with his homework.  I feel like I'm back in school.

The washer broke and overflowed last week.  Yay for a big wet mess.

Saturday was Older Boy's family birthday party.  He had a really nice time and it was nice to spend time with family and friends.

Sunday was the Pinewood Derby Race for Cub Scouts.  It's Older Boys last official race as he crosses over to Boy Scouts in a few weeks.  Both boys raced well and won trophies for their den. They work hard on their cars and were rewarded for that hard work.

Lent starts tomorrow.  I can't believe how fast things come.  I feel like everything is a whirl wind.  I have some things I'm giving up and I also have some things that I'd like to accomplish this Lenten season.

The Little Monkey turns 6 months old on Valentine's Day (and Happy Anniversary to my sweet cousins!).  I can't believe he's six months old already.  He's such a sweet baby and joy to our family.  We are truly blessed, all around.  He's rolling back and forth.  He's started solids (green beans, avocado, squash, sweet potato, carrots and bananas).  And he's doing well with the solids so far.  We are taking it slowly due to our history of food allergies.

I was sad yesterday to hear of the Pope retiring.  I thought he did a wonderful job leading the Catholic church.  I know his decision was made for the good of our church and I respect and admire him for that.  I've been listening to the Catholic Channel on Sirius XM and they've had some wonderful discussions about this.  I will however not listen to anything about it on the mainstream media.  It really makes me angry how little they know about the Catholic religion and base their information on misinformation and bias.  Truly sad.

So that's what we've been up to!

Not being Catholic, I only know of he Pope from the outside world. However, I respect someone who is willing to take stock what is really going on (ill health, I hear) and for the good of the people being lead by them, steps down. Prayers that a replacement within God's will, will be agreed upon soon.
