How NOT To Spend Father's Day

Both boys decided on what they wanted to with Dad on Father's Day. This mostly included fishing and grilling meat. I was fine with whatever they chose.
A few hours into fishing I got the call. You know the call. The call that makes your heart skip a beat. "He's fine, but meet me at the hospital". I couldn't imagine what happened. They only took safe snacks. Did he have an allergic reaction to the worms? The fish? No, it wasn't an allergic reaction at all. He walked into the path of a lure and got the hook stuck in his leg. Dad told him to "Sit there and don't move", but he moved.

He was less than happy. And even more unhappy that I was taking his photo.

Yea, that's not good. It didn't hurt him while it was in there. The four hour wait to get it removed hurt more than removing it. He lost patience while waiting and the only thing on TV was completely inappropriate cartoons on Cartoon Network.

He's fine now. They got it out and he's on antibiotics "just in case". He's back to his normal active self. I'm *hoping* this is it for the summer. A chest x-ray because he fell from the school play yard, the Older Boy getting his hand x-rayed because he was kicked in soccer, and now this. Consider us good on the boo-boo's for the summer please.

Yikes. I'm glad he's doing better and hope this is the last of those kinds of activities (ER types) for the summer!

I agree about Cartoon Network, too.

Ouch! That does look nasty and I can imagine very painful sitting there like that for 4 hours waiting for someone to take it out! Hope there are no more ER visits for you guys the rest of the summer!

Ouch! There was a special on tv one day about emergency rooms and what the most "popular" reason people go there in the summer time for...fishing lures stuck somewhere on the body!! lol I'm glad they were able to remove it and that he's now recovering. Maybe now he'll listen to Dad??? Probably not but you never know:-) xoxo

Ouch, poor Little Man! I'm with the rest and hope that this is IT for the summer -- and hopefully the next school year too!

[Also your word verification is telling me to spell DIALING. Thanks for incorrectly spelled actual words, word verification
