This article just proves that it really is better to eat like Grandma ate

You can read the NYT article about the tainted peanut butter here. Too much processing of our food just can't be good for us. And this article really points to why. Not only are all the unnecessary ingredients bad, but we actually have NO idea where those ingredients come from or where they've been. Makes me lose my appetite.

No kidding! Because of a cough I've had for years, and having been treated poorly by doctors for all that time, I decided to see if it was gluten that was causing the problem. I've been gluten-free for two weeks and have noticed a huge reduction in my coughing. Tonight I decided to make a big elk stew. Carrots and onions from my garden, and the elk my hubby shot. I could thicken the stew with cornstarch, so thought I was home free with the stew and some pretty decent gluten-free biscuits. Not so-after I added the beef base to my stew, I realized it was full of wheat! Now I'm sitting here with my heart pounding-a problem I thought was from MSG, but maybe it's gluten. Back to Rosauer's to see if they have beef base without wheat. Good grief!
